Who We’re Looking For:

We are growing and looking for a data scientist to join our data science team!

What You’ll Do:

As a data scientist at Union Crate you will implement state-of-the-art machine and deep learning solutions as part of our Supply Chain Software as a Service. You will be part of team oriented machine learning research to widen Union Crate’s capabilities.

Core Responsibilities

  • - Machine learning model prototyping
  • - Define metrics and design experiments meant to advance the state of our solutions
  • - Generate original ideas for model advancement that use open-source libraries
  • - Apply your scientific knowledge and creativity to analyze large volumes of diverse data and develop algorithms to solve complex problems in a commercial setting
  • - Data preparation, processing and augmentation
  • - Automation of data processing for production environment
  • - Work with development teams to deploy refined machine learning models into a production environment
  • - Work with a cloud environment to accelerate model prototyping

Qualifications / Requirements

  • - A B.Sc in Computer Science, EE, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent quantitative field with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in deep learning or MS.c \ Ph.D in the field of deep learning.
  • - Experience using scikit learn, pandas
  • - Experience working with data held in a SQL database
  • - Have worked with background in an object-oriented programming language, preferably Python
  • - Experience using a deep learning library preferably TensorFlow, or Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit (with or without Keras)
  • - Exposure to time series data / signal processing is a big plus.
  • - Self-motivated and capable of solving challenging real-world problems.
  • - Familiarity with common programming tools and best practices such as unit testing, Git, and Jira
  • - Team player, great communicator, collaborative and optimistic by nature
  • - Comfortable working in a startup environment with remote colleagues across the globe
